What do you really want?

Every week of this month led you to this very moment.

This is the last of a five posts series - Grounding Your Way into Clarity: 5 Steps to Getting Clear About What You Truly Want.

If you’re arriving now, here is where you can find episode one - How to have freedom with structure. (Happy to have you here!)

The episodes are building upon each other, so I strongly recommend you start by listening to the one before that - Nurturing the body to feed the mind, as the guided inner journey activity has been the baseline for everything we’re doing for the 5 weeks of June.

Hello beautiful soul!

We have made it to the finish line!

Last day of this month, and last episode of this series — Grounding Your Way into Clarity: 5 Steps to Getting Clear About What You Truly Want.

If you’re just arriving now, here is where you can start.

This has been a fun ride.

I heard from many of you about the impact these messages had on your own pursuit. Different life experiences, different stages in life—but each one of you (of us) dealing with decisions that feel very big, and how the guidance received opened your minds up to look at your present moment—your life even—from a different place.

Some people had powerful insights, others started journaling again. There are also those who felt exposed—in a good way—reconnecting with their feelings from a humble place, re-learning to listen to their bodies.

For everyone choosing to take the time to truly listen—not only hear the messages I’m sharing—the impact has been profound. Not because I’m sharing the ultimate truth. There’s really nothing new about what I say.

It’s simply the permission we give ourselves to stop and pay attention, observe and reflect—not from self-criticism and shame, but from a willingness to stop denying, dismissing and start taking responsibility to own what we wish to accomplish and be.

All that has been practiced in these past 4 weeks has taken us here, to this very moment, when we get asked a big question: What do you really want?

I often hear something along these lines:

If I could simply stop and have time to rethink my life…
If I could win the lottery, I would do everything I really want…
If I could quit my job and start my own business…
If I could, I would sell everything and travel the world…
If I didn’t have kids, I would get out of my marriage…
If it wasn’t for my job, I would move to a different country…
It’s not that simple… I can’t just do what I want…

Hmm… this last one really got me.

I don’t mean to be dismissive of anyone’s reality or feelings, but every time I hear this, something in me hurts.

From a personal standpoint, and a professional one, we all experience moments of confusion and this sense of being prisoners of our own choices—

As if what we chose throughout life is a final sentence, not a path.

Somehow, it doesn’t feel right. And I imagine that you’re probably feeling the same way as me. It doesn’t feel right, right?

In the end, I believe all we really want is to be happy. But happiness, as with most things, has a personal meaning.

What makes me happy will not necessarily be what makes you happy.

But why are we consistently worrying about so many aspects of our lives and not really focusing—or putting extra effort—into what actually makes us feel happy now?

I’m not talking about big moves, necessarily. Big or small is relative. In any case, it requires courage and presence either way.

A big move for me can be starting a life in another country. For you, it can be saying yes to a job in a completely different field, or even bringing a dog into your home.

In the end, it’s all about the decision-making process we go through—honouring how we want to feel in life. Be it big or small, your choice needs to reflect your truth.

That’s the real challenge: to honour your truth, to speak it out loud, and act on it.

We so often feel ashamed, uncertain, insecure, doubtful—not because we don’t know what we want, but because we don’t know where it will lead us. So we stick with what’s safe.

Look, I’m not telling you to throw your life away and go into the wild. Again, big or small, whatever step you take towards a life that is coherent with your feelings is a life better lived—because it makes sense, because it feels right, because of the place it puts you.

This is a muscle you need to strengthen—one that builds in you the confidence to continue on a progressive path. And in the end, you have a combination of decisions, choices, and ultimately actions that make you feel joyful, proud, safe, and confident.

You may think this is too simple or too small. Believe me, it is not.

It’s huge.

What these 5 weeks of June taught us weren’t simple reflections.

It was an intensive course on how to honour our truth. You were shown practical advice and guidance to truly exercise your freedom—one step at a time.

It’s up to you now to decide: Should I stay or should I go? Remember this episode?

Well, here you are.

This is not random. This is not by chance. There’s a much bigger life waiting for you.

What will be your answer to this question this time?

What do you really want?

I have to say, it took me some time to get here because, like many of us, I’m also learning to trust myself more and listen to my feelings—to my body.

As I’ve shared in the previous episodes, I’m taking a big step in my life right now. And today, this moment, this question couldn’t be more aligned with everything that is happening to me.

Changes will happen in the Podcast, for sure—and it’s for the best. I share more about it in today’s episode.

That’s how I’m choosing to look at everything that is coming. Because in the end, we always have choices. No wonder it’s even one of today’s cards.

And look at the card literally supporting this moment—grounding it, if you will: Painted Eggs.

This card highlights the importance of knowing that just as we are, with the resources we have, we have enough to take the first step towards the reality we want—day by day—and bring the changes we need and wish to see happening.

This is also a muscle I’m strengthening—learning to look at change as something positive and present for my greater good. Not every change is initially felt as uplifting, but almost every time, it comes to help us reach a better place or become a better version of ourselves.

An extra dose of inspiration and guidance

I love the card that came today.

More than always being in perfect alignment with the episodes, it’s about this extra dose of reflection indeed.

Read it first, than we’ll continue talking…

This card comes to you as a reminder of the profound impact you have when you embody reliability in your actions, words and commitments.

Keeping your word to others and following through on your actions is how you foster trust with others, and keeping your word to yourself is how you build confidence in yourself. It allows you to form the foundations needed to build better relationships, experience personal growth and, ultimately, have the trust in yourself to see something through from start to finish.

Upon all we have discussed, all the guidance received, all the reflections made, this card points to the most important aspect of it all: keeping your word to yourself is how you build confidence in yourself.

When you tell yourself a lie—so you don’t have to face your own truth, what you know is what you really want—you’re not only doing a disservice to your life and what you could potentially experience, but to the world as a whole.

I’ve heard this so many times, and each time I would say (thinking less of myself): what difference does my life make to everything else?

It does—not because you will be a leader, or the one saving the environment, curing a rare disease. We’re always projecting it into something outrageous.

Your life matters because you impact others—no matter how many. When you call someone, when you listen, when you stand for what’s right, when you give passage to someone instead of rushing to be first, when you take into consideration your team’s needs on a personal and human level, when you greet someone in the street.

You think these actions—again, big or small being relative—don’t have a direct impact on the world? They do. Because we are a race that lives in communities. We’re not meant to live alone.

And so, how we choose to exercise our presence—and how we choose to present ourselves—directly impacts others.

When you choose not to live your life the way you really want, you’re choosing not to impact the world with the energy, mindset, presence, and vision of someone who is genuinely happy with their choices.

Be it your children, your partner, your neighbours, your colleagues, the attendant in the coffee shop—your vibes speak louder than your words.

You matter. Your life matters. Your choices matter.

So my friend… What do you really want?

This concludes what I’m calling Season One of the ALMA VIA Podcast.

It’s not a goodbye, but a see you soon.

I just want you to know that what I truly need in this moment is a pause—and you’ll understand why when you listen to the episode.

I’ll continue to write, share insights, and bring themes for us to reflect on together. This pause is both intentional and necessary.

I’m not going anywhere, and I truly hope we continue connecting here.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your ongoing support. It means more than you know.

Talk soon.
